C.E. MARKED STRUCTURAL STEELWORK

C.E. Certification

FABRICATE & INSTALL

We can design, fabricate, and install all types of structural steelwork, ranging from a small ladder, to a large access platform. Experience and expertise allow us to make easy work of any situation or challenge a client can provide; delivering a cost effective and quality solution. Work can be manufactured in-shop, or on site if required, with this being common for larger structures. Most of our structural steelwork goes hand in hand with our Pressure Vessel production; with access platforms, ladders, walkways and handrailing being required for most plant applications.

Services include:

  • Large structures

  • Installation of beams and supports for both office and industrial applications

  • Ladders

  • Access Platforms

  • Stairways

  • Site Measure and Install

WG&R Engineering Services are cabable of fabricating Structural Steelwork to BS EN 1090-1 allowing the C.E. marking to be applied. We have a qualified RWC and quailty control system in place which allows certified fabrication of structures up to Consequence Class 2a.

Requirements for CE marking of Structural Steelwork:

  • Initial type-testing of the product

  • Factory Production Control (FPC), which will include

    • implementation of FPC system procedures

    • appointment of a responsible welding coordinator (RWC)

    • implementation of welding quality management system (WQMS) procedures

  • Further testing of samples taken at the factory in accordance with the prescribed test plan

They must also be assessed by a notified body that will carry out:

  • Initial inspection of the manufacturing plant

  • Initial inspection of the FPC

  • Continuous surveillance, assessment and approval of the FPC, which will typically include:

    • an audit to ensure continued competence to the declared Execution Class (Table B.3 of BS EN 1090-1[8] sets out minimum levels for the routine surveillance intervals)

The notified body will then issue a FPC certificate and Welding Certificate identifying the Execution Class that the steelwork contractor has achieved.
